Trainee – Internal Auditor

What is Internal
Audit?
The Internal Audit team has the responsibility of assessing the effectiveness of the Firm's internal systems, controls, policies and procedures. The team then issue recommendations to the business and verify compliance by working closely with senior management. In conjunction with this, the team aim to ensure the firm maintains an independent and effective internal audit function, whilst also establishing, implementing and maintaining the annual audit plan which evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the Firm's internal control mechanisms.
What is the role? As a trainee you will have exposure to a variety of business areas including the front and back office, all overseas offices within EMEA, and the Technology Divisions. You will be a key member of the Internal Audit Department, responsible for providing administrative support whilst also participating in fieldwork and the production of management information for senior management.

You will be part of a long-established, professional team with a wide range of responsibilities. This role will bring you in contact with multiple people across the firm including the senior management team and with time, you will be expected to interact with senior management independently and represent the audit function with confidence.
What do you expect from me? We are looking for someone who works well in a team and who has excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and effectively (both orally and written) You should be an inquisitive thinker and problem solver. This role is diversified and requires a strong attention to detail, organisation and an ability to prioritise under pressure to meet deadlines. An advanced ability to navigate within Microsoft Office would be useful but is not essential.
And what qualifications do I need? We will consider any degree having regard for the above requirements, however it is likely that you will have, or be predicted to have, a 2:1 or above in Economics, Maths, Accountancy or Business Studies. If you are successful, we will support you to study for a relevant professional qualification.
